Feature Guide: Directional Arrows with Loner
Blackline GPS has recently released a minor update to the Loner Portal interface including numerous aesthetic improvements as well as the introduction of directional arrows for both real-time and device history tracking.
Online devices were previously indicated with an orange pin. From now on, any Loner device (including Loner Mobile) that is connected to the network, will be indicated with a blue icon as seen above.
Recorded locations such as the ones seen to the right have also had a makeover and made the switch to blue.
The introduction of directional arrows within the Loner Portal now provides monitoring personnel with a more intuitive and easier method of determining the direction of travel of a given worker. In the real-time view, all moving devices on-screen will now have a small black arrow indicating their bearing.
Device history locations have now received directional arrows as well. These arrows appear within the location bubbles on the map, indicating the bearing at the instant that the device transmitted its location to the central server.
The history view can still be navigated by using the arrow keys on a keyboard or by clicking on each recorded location in series, but the arrows now add further simplicity to the process of determining direction of travel at a single instant in time.
In preparation for the imminent release of the newest version of Loner Mobile, Blackline GPS has also changed the Portal icon for all Loner Mobile users to match the icon of the Loner Mobile Smartphone Application.
These new features have been automatically pushed to all Loner devices and will not only improve the look of the Loner Portal, but also improve the experience of our clients world-wide. For additional information regarding the updates to Loner Portal, please contact us directly.
