Written by Blackline Safety | June 23, 2025

Calgary, Canada Blackline Safety Corp. (TSX: BLN), a global leader in connected safety technology, is proud to announce it has received the 2025 Calgary Award for Social Impact – Business from the City of Calgary.

The Calgary Awards recognize outstanding contributions to the community. The Social Impact – Business award celebrates companies that demonstrate a commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities through their work.

“We’re incredibly honored to receive this recognition,” said Cody Slater, CEO and Chair of Blackline Safety. “Calgary is more than our headquarters. It’s where our mission began, and that commitment goes beyond building technology—it’s about protecting lives, supporting communities, and creating a shared sense of purpose.”

Blackline Safety has been designing and manufacturing industry-leading safety technology in Calgary for 20 years. Today, the company’s gas detection and lone worker solutions protect hundreds of thousands of workers across 75 countries spanning industries ranging from oil and gas to utilities to emergency response and beyond.

As part of its long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility, Blackline Safety invests in community partnerships that enhance health, safety, education and equity—both locally and globally. The company works closely with local post-secondary institutions, including the University of Calgary, SAIT, and Mount Royal University, donating technology and offering real-world learning experiences in Industrial IoT, UX design, and entrepreneurship.

Blackline also supports a range of nonprofits aligned with its values, from lone worker protection at the Calgary Zoo to mentorship programs for girls in STEM through TELUS Spark and Plan International, to fundraisers and volunteerism with Discovery House, Made by Momma, Women in Need Society, and the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter. Employees regularly take the lead on these initiatives, making social impact part of Blackline’s everyday culture.

“This award belongs to our passionate employees,” continued Slater. “It also belongs to our customers, who trust us to protect their teams, and to our investors, who believe in the power of purpose-driven business.”
