Blackline Begins European Expansion, Short-Listed for Safety Award

Diana Winger May 11, 2012

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 11, 2012) - Marking the beginning of a European expansion, Blackline GPS ("Blackline")(TSX VENTURE:BLN), a leading wireless location innovator, will be exhibiting at the IFSEC International 2012 Commercial & Government Security expo from May 14-17 in Birmingham, England. IFSEC is the leading security and safety event that brings together the entire security and safety supply chain, attracting over 25,000 industry professionals. On display will be Blackline's second generation, Loner® worker safety monitoring product and the company's Javelin® and Flat Track™ covert tracking solutions.

"Our agreement with a leading international machine-to-machine wireless communications provider enables Blackline to pursue European business development programs with cost-effective operation in over 70 different countries, including those in North America, Europe, South America, and beyond," said Cody Slater, Blackline GPS CEO. "Blackline can both support the needs of multi-national organizations, while additionally building new distribution for its commercialized, channel-ready security and safety products."

IFSEC 2012 is co-located with the Safety & Health Expo 2012 that provides additional focus upon the U.K.'s legislated lone worker market that requires monitoring of personnel working out of sight or sound of others. Blackline's second-generation Loner safety monitoring product has been short-listed for a Communication Product of the Year award as part of the IFSEC International Security Industry Awards 2012 competition.

Second generation Loner safety monitoring solutions incorporate True Fall Detection™ technology that differentiate falls from other activity, alerting monitoring personnel of incidents. Coupled with activity monitoring, man-down detection, and an intuitive emergency latch, Loner is able to alert others of safety incidents in real-time, to facilitate an efficient response to the worker's precise location using location-based technologies.

Blackline's Flat Track product - smaller and thinner than an iPad - has achieved critical attention at the GovSec 2012 and ASIS 2011, winning awards at both events. This innovative solution provides surveillance professionals with ultra-thin covert tracking capability that opens new creative concealment opportunities for vehicle surveillance, loss prevention, and security of assets. Flat Track provides users with real-time tracking, 10 second automatic track-on-motion, removal detection & alerting, and zone entry & exit alerting. Blackline's Javelin product provides an equivalent feature-set while offering an innovative, modular mounting system for vehicle surveillance.

Blackline will be showcasing its security and safety solutions at the Birmingham National Exhibition Center, in Hall 5, stand I34.
