Sales Development Representative (Calgary, Alberta)

You will have ownership over the inbound lead qualification and outbound lead generation process and will be responsible for the success of converting leads into qualified opportunities. You will be Blackline’s front-line ambassador, managing inbound enquiries with the highest attentiveness, taking time and care to present how our solutions solve real-world problems. Your job will include everything from researching potential customers and contacts, cold-calling, emailing, LinkedIn/Sales Navigator Messaging, pre-qualification of leads, initial demonstrations of our solution to potential customers, working directly with our internal and external sales team to support their customers, and some quoting.. Your natural ability to communicate will support the outbound lead generation process by spreading news about Blackline to potential customers. Your insights will help us understand how people find out about us, how quickly we can generate opportunities and sales, and how our distribution network handles our leads.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, capture and communicate the customer opportunities for the next stage of the sales process
  • Respond to inbound web, phone and email leads to expand awareness, educate and develop the lead
  • Be knowledgeable with industry standards for gas detection and know in-depth know who our lone worker and gas competitors are, what they sell and how the products work
  • Keep up with industry trends, different verticals and personas we sell to
  • Demonstrate Blackline technology and solutions to client teams via online meetings
  • Ensure our CRM is up-to-date with relevant customer info for every pre-qualified lead
  • Ownership and maintenance of records in the CRM for customers and distributors
  • Keep track of lead metrics, conversions and other sales related reporting
  • Determine time for conversion and what influences the time (industries, products, etc.)
  • Run lead warm up report daily to determine follow-ups required
  • Complete outbound lead generation to develop leads and pass them to Sales Managers
  • Cold Calling
  • Assist with back up to sales support (RFQ processing)

What We're Looking For

  • BA degree, or equivalent in relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience in sales
  • An engaging personality, excellent communication skills and an ability to quickly develop rapport on the phone
  • Excellent customer service skills, a desire to understand each customer’s needs and help find the right solution for them
  • The desire to grow professionally, to help drive sales and grow the business
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail and the ability think outside the box
  • Marketing or communications experience/education is considered an asset
  • Ability to quickly develop client trust and good relationships
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to listen and understand customer needs
  • Ability to present our solutions and answer questions
